I have been competing now in BBQ for 2 years. I joined the RMBBQA after the first comp I
ever did. Thanks to the great people representing the RMBBQA. I had never met a better bunch of people. Which enticed me
to join.
I am honored to be nominated for the board of directors. I feel the RMBBQA is leading the pack in its programs, such as
the JLP. And I can only see more programs like this coming from RMBBQA.
I am a level headed person that can get along with everyone. I am open minded, a great listener, outgoing and determined.
I feel that these are important things for a board member. I would love the chance to be on the board and work with the
other members to make RMBBQA the association the is looked upon for ideas from all over. We have the potential! |
|
Having spent two years as a contest organizer, two years as an active CBJ, and three years
now as part of a competition barbecue team, I feel that I bring an unique perspective to the board. As an association we
have accomplished a lot in the past two years and I would like the opportunity to spend another two years working on the
projects that make this organization better and stronger.
Even if not re-elected, it will not change the fact
that I am personally invested in the success of the RMBBQA and will always want the best for the Association and its
members. |

Plan Twice, Execute Once! I recently received my Project Management Professional (PMP)
certification, and look forward to bringing my experience in planning, executing, monitoring, and completing tasks and
projects successfully to the organization.
For The Membership, and By the Membership! The RMBBQA membership as a whole possesses an amazing depth and breadth of
skills, knowledge, and background; inviting those qualified, capable folks to step up and help with the infinite number
of chances we have to improve our organization just makes sense.
Grow the Sport! "Without new people and new ideas, we're the dinosaurs awaiting extinction... really tasty extinction,
but extinction all the same." RMBBQA needs to continue to focus on not only attracting new talent, but maintaining the
wonderful folks we already have. |

Having been appointed to the Board a little over a year ago I'm looking forward to my chance to be
elected by the membership.
As a Board member this past year I helped relocate our forum and website to a
new host. I redesigned the website around our new logos and gave the forum a facelift to match the new website.
Plus I created the Judges' Liaison Program which I believe judges, cookers, and event organizers will all tell you is
a huge success.
I'm asking for your vote to allow me to continue the work I've started and to continue to
represent you in a time when the RMBBQA is growing at a record pace and finding its place in the World of BBQ. Thank
you! |

My name is Rudy Durán and I'm running for the RMBBQA Board of Directors. I'm a
founding member of Los Nerds BBQ Team of Parker, Colorado. We've been competing at KCBS sanctioned Colorado BBQ
competitions for seven years now. Our first competition was the Denver Blues and Bones Backyard BBQ competition where
we used a homemade 55 gallon double barrel smoker named "Big Baby".
I am married to my wife Andrea and we have three daughters, Olivia 17yrs, Gabbie 14yrs, and Emma 11yrs, who also make up
part of Los Nerds.
My other hobbies include playing electric guitar, photography and growing wine grapes.
As past and present member of the RMBBQA I feel I can help make the Association a better one by offering some new ideas
to the Board and an enthusiasm for working with fun people. |

I starting cooking BBQ in 1997, became a CBJ in 2003 and started competing in 2004. In 2004
I also became a founding member of the Rocky Mountain BBQ Association.
I'm married to Jennifer and we have two beautiful children named Elly and Joey. I am the IT Manager for Summit Brick
Company and I'm currently pursuing my MBA at Colorado State.
I feel the RMBBQA has done some great things this past year and that there are still some areas that we should continue to
work on. The current Board is an outstanding asset and I look forward to what they bring in the future. |
