Kids Q Soda Pop Contest
The RMBBQA hopes that the Kids Q Soda Pop contest will encourage kids to participate in more Kids Q events and to continue cooking in the Cup & Shot
Glass contest after their Kids Q eligibility ends. We also encourage kids to be involved in BBQ no matter how many or how few events they cook.
For kids to be eligible for the Kids Q Soda Pop contest, they must participate in at least two separate Soda Pop contest events. The kids two best
scores overall will be used to calculate their final positions.
Kids must be affiliated with the Rocky Mountain BBQ Association prior to the awards ceremony for an event's scores to count toward the Kids Q Soda Pop
contest.
Every eligible kid at a Kids Q Soda Pop contest event will receive points. Points will be awarded based on rank as per the RMBBQA Cup Calculation Method
determined by the RMBBQA Board of Directors. Additionally, kids will be awarded bonus points based on the number of other kids competing in the event,
divided by four. While kids are rewarded for doing well in large contests, this system helps to bridge the gap between the smaller and larger turnouts,
rewarding kids for their consistency regardless of event size. For full details, definitions, and scoring examples view the
RMBBQA Cup Calculation Method.
Kids Q Soda Pop contest events: Frisco, Fairplay, Artesia, Rio Rancho, and Parker.
